Five-minute guide
How large should an air purifier be?
Short answer: match verified clean-air performance to the room and how quickly you want the air cleaned.
Measure the room
Use length × width × ceiling height. Open floor plans and high ceilings contain more air than a basic square-foot label suggests.
Compare more than the headline
Check clean-air delivery, operating sound, replacement-filter price, energy use, and whether the unit’s performance is stated at a tolerable fan speed.
Placement matters
Keep the intake and outlet clear. A purifier crowded behind furniture cannot move room air effectively.
